GE’s Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications.

We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies.

This role is for Commercial Assistant within the GE Power Conversion UK Marine business. The role will be focused on supporting a key naval program as well as supporting activities at our UK test facility.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Submission and recording of documents issued to customers/suppliers
  • Customer monthly reporting (with input from others)
  • Document filing administration using company databases and Excel files
  • Interaction with various customer virtual portals
  • Creation and maintenance/manipulation of various Excel and Word documents relating to both projects and the overall Marine business
  • Preparation of purchase requisitions and supplier monitoring
  • Tracking of materials relating projects
  • Raising of customer invoices on behalf of project managers
  • Assisting with equipment shipping requirements including import and export processes and procedures
  • Supporting the project managers with compiling contract variations
  • Managing and co-ordinating Supplier interfaces on behalf of the project managers
  • Supporting project managers in the use of other internal systems (e.g. field service booking system)
  • Support site management activities as required at the MPTF facility. These will include but are not limited to management of contractors, site inductions, supporting audit visits and management of local contractors.

Desired characteristics

  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Experience of SAP
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Understanding of basic contractual terms and conditions
  • Experience of Microsoft Project
