Roles and responsibilities

In the 12-month Quality Placement, you'll gain invaluable skills and experience in covering all aspects of quality from product and process design and definition to issue resolution and elimination. You could be supporting investigations, auditing products and suppliers, checking specifications, reviewing quality of materials used in production, analysing key data, or assisting with the rollout of a new process.

You could be supporting the business to ensure products are safe and high quality when exiting the plant- the individual will be involved in proactive risk management, investigating quality issues, and completing audits of the work area.

As Quality Placement student you could work supporting Supplier Quality and QMS compliance functions or support Engineering projects by assuring that the projects allocated to them follow their agreed and approved engineering plans.

You will be guided by structured goals and objectives and will have responsibility to deliver on inspiring projects supported by your People Leader and team around you. We will guide you throughout the year to ensure you make the best of your GE Aerospace experience. Your People Leader will offer coaching and mentoring, and you will be provided with the opportunity to connect with other placement students across the UK.

About you

Qualifications & requirements

  • Currently studying or recently achieved Business/ Data Analytics or Engineering/ Mechanical/ Aeromechanical degree or related bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Keen interest in Quality/ Product Quality/ Supplier Quality
  • On course or achieved a 2:1 degree

This opportunity is offered in our Cheltenham, Gloucester (Dowty at GE Aerospace company) and Prestwick (Scotland/ GE Caledonia) sites, we will ask you to share your location preferences during the application process.
