Due to continued growth, Ferguson Transport & Shipping are currently recruiting for a Trainee Environmental & Sustainability Officer, based in Corpach or Kishorn. This role would be suitable for a recent graduate, ideally qualified to degree level.
Duties
- Implementing environmental policies and practices
- Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation
- Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy
- Assessing, analysing and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to colleagues, clients and regulatory bodies
- Writing plans and reports as required
- Keeping up to date with relevant changes in environmental and sustainability legislation, including EU and International legislation where applicable
- Providing environmental and sustainability training to employees at all levels
- Liaising with relevant bodies such as local authorities, public bodies and competent bodies as required
The successful candidate must have a genuine interest in and understanding of environmental issues, relevant legislation, sustainability and renewable energy sources, and have excellent communication skills.
