As a Marine Junior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing 2D manufacturing drawings incorporating some model fixes, working closely with cross-functional teams on a range of projects, making sure that work complies with industry standards and regulations.
You will deliver accurate technical drawings and specifications, and will help to identify and resolve any design issues that may arise.
What do you need from me?
You will have knowledge in 2D and 3D design software and you will have a keen eye for detail and accuracy, and are able to use analytical and problem solving skills in challenging situations.
You're able to work autonomously or within a larger team, and are able to flexibly adapt to changing project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Creation of Drawings: Producing detailed 2D drawings to meet required standards.
- Change of Models: Identifying errors within a 3D CAD model and carry out necessary fixes to meet required standards.
- Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases.
- Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
- Perform self-verification of work.
- Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
- Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented
- Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
About you
Qualifications
- The candidate is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification / experience in Outfitting/ Structural discipline subject.
- Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
Essential skills
- Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
Desired skills
- Preferable FORAN Experience

- Experience in Design processes and procedures specifically within design.
