We are now looking for a Trainee Sourcing Intern to work in the CU UK&I Sourcing team.

The UK&I Sourcing team looks after the purchasing of Telecoms Infrastructure Services (to support Ericsson’s delivery of Managed Services and Wireless Networks) from a selection of vendors and delivering to some of the biggest in-country mobile operators as our customers.

What you will do

Your role will make Ericsson and our Customers successful by actively contributing towards securing a short and long-term profitable business. Key deliverables include:

  • Ensure alignment and collaboration between Sourcing and business stakeholders (Operations, Sales, Solutions Architects etc…)
  • Understand and ultimately help to drive the effective management of supplier spend for assigned projects, specifically within the Managed Services space; with good attention to cost, supplier efficiency and quality in line with the profitability targets of the company.
  • Participate in strategic Sales and project forums.
  • When engaging on projects, ensure execution as per the Ericsson Strategic Sourcing Process
  • Secure business stakeholder agreement for Supplier Selection and Costs recommendation by Sourcing through the execution of the Sourcing Decision Making Process.

Full training will be provided, to include one to one reviews of progress, mentoring and access to a suite of learning materials and support.

Responsibilities

Drive stakeholder engagement

  • Build relationship with Stakeholders through early involvement and proactive engagement.
  • Conclude reporting and updating of records as required from sourcing by interfacing teams.

Sourcing responsible for profitability

  • Participate in specific Cost Reduction follow-up and realization. Track savings and assess progress made against these for relevant team members.

Strategic Sourcing Process

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of the RFx process securing active stakeholder participation and agreement on objectives and wanted results
  • Prepare and plan RFx process together with the relevant sourcing manager / stakeholder.
  • Review and document supplier selection, ensuring that it is carried out in adherence to category and supplier strategies and guidelines that are in line with Ericsson’s business development and technology evolution.
  • Take ownership of the tracking and data behind key Operational metrics and reporting progress to the Head of Sourcing and to colleagues within both the UK and the regional sourcing team.

Key qualifications

  • Graduate or studying for a degree in a business related or technical discipline.
  • Previous office experience is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of the telecommunications sector (major players and market dynamics).
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Good networking ability – strong at forming effective working relationships to get the job done.
  • Team player – proactively looks for opportunities to help rather than waiting to be asked.
  • Logical mindset and a good eye for detail – can spot a flaw in a plan quickly.
  • Self starter – demonstrates drive, enthusiasm and passion for their work.
