The position

Our summer internship is a 6-week programme designed to provide the experience and skills you need in your studies and future career. Our Norwegian and UK internship will begin on 17 June and ends on 02 August 2024, with one week off starting 15 July.

Internal Control – Governance Process and Systems is a team within Finance and Control (F&C) delivering advisory and support services to oil and gas, renewables, low carbon, marketing solutions, corporate units and functions. Through our work, we support the business in identifying and responding to risks in their area, helping to ensure that they have the right processes, procedures, and controls in place to mitigate those risks. We work closely with other team members and leaders both within the business lines and F&C. We are around 35 people, who provide a range of services for Equinor, including;

  • Project deliveries, Digital and Automation
  • Improvements work related to internal controls
  • Management testing of internal controls
  • Training of control performers and reviewers throughout the business
  • Development and implementation of internal controls

We are looking for summer interns who are collaborators, eager to learn and have an analytical mindset and with an attention to detail. You are a business student, preferably with understanding of accounting and/or auditing.

  • Currently studying for Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or Ph.D. with a strong academic record within Accounting, auditing or finance. • Fluent in English and preferably a second working language.• No more than three years of relevant full-time work experience.• Have completed at least two years of higher education before the internship programme starts (17 June 2024).• Have at least one year of higher education left after the internship programme ends (02 August 2024).
  • The interns need to be located in the country where the internship takes place during its entire duration. Equinor does not support any relocation for our summer interns.
  • Please note that Equinor does not support, or sponsor work or visa permits for internship applications. Candidates must have the necessary work permit/visa for the UK. The work permits/visas must be valid at the point of application and for the duration of the internship.   • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work are an advantage.
