Our summer internship is a 7-weeks programme designed to provide the experience and skills you need in your studies and future career. Our UK internship will begin on 23 June and ends on 8 August 2025.

The position

The Renewables (REN) area in Equinor is developing and delivering wind and solar power, storage solutions and green hydrogen. We have great ambitions and aim to grow significantly within renewables in the years to come. REN aims to do this by combining Equinor’s broad energy competence, project delivery capabilities and ability to integrate technological solutions. To do this we also need young talents with an eye for the future.

By joining this position within REN, interns will participate in a common summer internship programme as well as other technical and commercial challenges, tasks and/or group work. Your exact assignment will be decided based on our business needs, combined with your field of expertise and your interests, with some examples provided below both within Technical and Commercial fields:

  • Develop cost-effective solutions for offshore wind design for floating and bottom fixed projects for various markets.
  • Carry out electric power and wind turbine related activities for one or several offshore wind projects e.g. calculations, information exchange, supplier engagement.
  • Participate in technology development and technology qualification.
  • Performance analysis of offshore wind farms using advanced data analytic methods.
  • Assist project development with ad-hoc technical tasks to ensure deliveries and timelines are met.
  • Support as needed with work related to Equinor's management system.
  • Contribute and Support with standardizing best practices.
  • Participate in business case development, optimization and commercial strategy work.
  • Assist project development with ad-hoc commercial tasks to ensure deliveries and timelines are met

About you

For this position we are looking for those with:

  • Currently studying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong academic record within a technical discipline, or within non-technical disciplines such as Business, Economics, Finance, Environmental Sciences, Marketing or Political Science.
  • Fluent in English.
  • No more than three years of relevant full-time work experience.
  • Have completed at least two years of higher education before the internship programme starts (23 June 2025).
  • Have at least one year of higher education left after the internship programme ends (8 August 2025).
  • The interns need to be located in the country where the internship takes place during its entire duration. Equinor does not support any relocation for our summer interns.
  • Please note that Equinor does not support, or sponsor work or visa permits for internship applications. Candidates must have the necessary work permit/visa for the UK.   • Extracurricular activities and/or voluntary work are an advantage.
