Overview 

We’re looking for a brilliant Design Intern to join the Creative team within our European Marketing Communications department based at our European Headquarters in Egham, Surrey.

If you are looking to get a holistic understanding as to how different marketing strategies, mechanics and tactics converge to propel a brand and business forwards, whilst being given a tangible role in making it all happen, this internship is for you.

You’ll spend a year using your design skills to answer live marketing briefs, and getting experience of creating advertising and comms in a highly commercial environment. You’ll be part of a small Creative team that is collaborative, supportive, kind and fun, led by our European Creative Director, who will oversee your work, mentor you and guide your development.

You’ll also learn how Design and Creative fit within a broader marketing operation, collaborating with colleagues across the broader department to help us achieve big marketing and business goals. The focus of this role will be supporting the in-house team, but there will also be opportunities to get an insight into the work we do with our agency partners, including AMV BBDO.

Responsibilities

  • Take briefs from the Creative team and wider department
  • Collaborate with and support senior designers on larger projects
  • Work solo on day-to-day design needs across both print and digital, delivering draft and final design work to deadlines
  • Assist our creative and media agencies in delivering campaign assets to match media plans
  • Help deliver internal comms to promote and celebrate the launch of new campaigns
  • Research and learn new trends within advertising and design, and share these with the team
  • Contribute to team discussion and critical appraisal of creative work
  • Contribute creative ideas in an environment where you’ll be listened to, regardless of your level of experience
  • Promote the values of the company in everything you do

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Graphic Design preferred
  • A design portfolio (this can be personal projects rather than commercial work)
  • A willingness to listen, learn and develop
  • Creative problem solving ability, enthusiasm and love for creativity and design
  • Skilled in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Skills in Adobe Animate, Premiere and After Effects a bonus but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of design principles, including typography, colour theory, and layout design
  • Knowledge of print production and digital design best practices
  • A meticulous eye for detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to take constructive feedback

Additional information

  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Salary: £20,000 per annum
  • Duration: The Internship will run from Summer 2025 for 12 months
  • Location: Egham, Surrey, TW20 9FB (Plenty of free on site parking and approx. 10 minutes walk from Egham station)
