The role

We’re looking for a Sustainability Advisor to join our Route Wide Environment Team to look specifically at the Environment Management System (EMS). This role will be primarily based from Milton Keynes, however regular travel to sites will be required. You must hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle in order to be considered for this role.

This role will require you to provide support to the EKFB Sustainability and Environment Teams to deliver the HS2 contract requirements relating to environmental management.

You will need to perform independent maintenance of the EMS to ensure legal and contractual compliance. You'll be working with Project Environment Teams to implement continual improvement and best practice across the EKFB projects You'll use personal on site experience and knowledge to identify opportunities for improvement.

We would like you to review monthly inspection, audit and incident data to identify trends and implement effective change. Updating and presenting an ongoing program of improvement. Monitoring document review dates, audit action and inspection findings and coordinating timely updates. You'll be responsible for the review of the Environmental Legal Register.

You will be chairing and attending workshops and meetings across the EKFB trace, both onsite and virtually. As and when required, organising, attending and assisting route wide assurance, HS2 TAR, regulator visits and sustainability audits e.g. Audits PAS 2080, ISO 20400, ISO 14001, both onsite and virtually.

You will be feeding into the sustainability strategy and monthly reporting. We would need you to independently undertaking various data and document reviews.

You'll be working with the supply chain to improve compliance and awareness, including site visits. We would need you to be assisting with parent company interface, including site visits. Independently coordinating, developing and delivering training and tracking progress, virtually and onsite.

About you

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent with keen interest in sustainability
  • Strong IT skills - including Excel
  • Knowledge of HS2 technical standards and leading audits
  • Excellent Organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle
