The Opportunity

 

If you are looking to kick start a career that is rewarding, where you can really make a difference, then come join our Sizewell C Nuclear Business Graduate. You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects that our country has ever seen, being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.

 

You’ll embark on a 2-year programme where you can kick start your career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference, then come join our new Sizewell C Graduate Programme. You will work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the world, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. 

 

You will be based out of our London office with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis. Please note there will be a requirement to travel to Sizewell C (Suffolk) for occasional meetings. 


Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C (SZC) Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and UK Government financing support. The project has now commenced early construction works and is seeking a final investment decision from UK Government alongside private equity investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. Sizewell C is a company that is currently majority owned by the UK Government, alongside EDF UK, and must deliver value for money for the taxpayer. The Sizewell C Graduate Programme will consist of a series of placements lasting up to 6 months, where you will have the opportunity to submit your preferences for the areas you are interested in across the corporate functions of the organisation.

 

What we’re looking for 

 

  • Disciplines in Finance, Business, Economics, Politics, Energy & Sustainability and Data Analytics.
  • A genuine interest in the energy industry and a passion for sustainability and being a part of making a difference. 
  • We will need you to be open minded, flexible and have an agile way of thinking to succeed in a dynamic fast paced project environment.
  • Having a strategic mindset that brings innovative ideas. 
  • Effective interpersonal skills are key, as well as being able to demonstrate high ethical behaviour, integrity, humility, and character. 
  • Effective communication skills will be required to manage your stakeholders whilst prioritising competing demands.

Sizewell C Limited (Sizewell C) is nuclear site licensed company whose business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Sizewell C was formerly under the majority ownership of the EDF Group but is currently majority owned by HM Government and operates as an independent company. EDF remains a key shareholder in Sizewell C and the business therefore maintains close links to EDF as a part of its ‘nuclear family’.
