Audit & Business advisory

Your role

You will be involved in audits both on-site and in the office as well as preparing financial statements for a range of entities. This is a client-facing role where no two days are the same and you will gain a wealth of experience.

Graduates

During your three-year programme, you’ll be learning, gaining real-work experience and studying towards your ACA qualification.

School-leavers

During your four or five year programme, you’ll be learning, gaining real-work experience and studying towards your AAT qualification.

Throughout your programme, you’ll be given time to study and revise for your exams, supported by us all the way.

Outsourced Business Services

Providing tailored financial expertise

Our Financial Management Solutions (FMS) team act as the outsourced finance function for a wide range of businesses including young and fast-growing owner-managed start-ups through to large, well-established multinationals. Our clients operate in a variety of industries including media (tv/film), professional services, hospitality & leisure, and financial services to name a few. This varied experience will allow you to gain exceptional insight into finance functions of all shapes and sizes.

Outside the client work, many of the team choose to get involved in the wider firm by joining one of a number of groups, from charity and social committees, to the diversity team, or by training as a mental health first-aider. We work closely with our audit, and tax departments and these groups and committees are a great way to bring the different teams together in a working environment. The team enjoy a good social and many of us can often be found spending time with each other outside of office hours.

Your role

You will work with a portfolio of clients large and small to prepare their annual financial statements, monthly/quarterly management reports, and assist with VAT, payroll and regulatory compliance. As you progress you will be given more and more responsibility, ultimately being handed clients to manage, whilst taking on more future-focussed assignments, from forecasting to advisory work.

We work with a range of entrepreneurial individuals and businesses from young and fast-growing owner-manged businesses through to large, well-established multinationals. This varied experience will allow you to gain exceptional insight into finance functions of all shapes and sizes.

In this client-facing role, you will work within a team, reporting into seniors, supervisors and managers. You will study for either the AAT (school leavers) or the ACA/ACCA/CIMA (graduates) and will be given study leave and support. On completion of the AAT, school leavers will progress to one of the professional level qualifications.

Tax

Making the complex understandable

As tax legislation is becoming increasingly complex, our clients need to understand how the evolving tax environment impacts their personal and business finances. As a tax associate, you will help our clients manage their tax affairs to ensure they stay ahead of the changing legislation, identify tax planning opportunities and minimise risk.

Your role

You will gain hands-on experience in a variety of Personal and Corporate Taxation work. Working closely with our team, you’ll experience on the job training, alongside a structured training programme. You will learn how to interpret complex legislation and deliver strategic solutions to provide our clients with clear advice and recommendations they can rely on. Taking early responsibility in your role, you’ll be helping our clients with everything from the tax compliance process, planning their operational and legal structures, advising on the availability of beneficial tax claims and informing their risk management.

Throughout the training programme you will have time to study and revise for your exams supported by us all the way. You’ll be completing the ATT then CTA professional qualifications so that you have the technical expertise and insight to advise our clients.
