We are seeking a Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence Intern to join our team. What you’ll do

  • Support the Eaton Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment (5S, visual controls, process standardization, leader standard work, Gemba walks, manning strategy, daily accountability, process checks and C.I. for everyone).
  • Develop a knowledge of local C.I. Tools through training and Eaton University Courses.
  • Support the C.I. Team to coach the site through C.I. Training & Events
  • Develops skills using ELSS Tools, Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma Projects.
  • Support the attainment of ELSS Assessment and ELSS Cost Savings objectives.
  • Direct problem-solving activities and co-ordinate corrective action plans for production problems.
  • Support the C.I. Team to plan, facilitate and support Business Process Improvement (BPI), Integrated Deck Building (IDB), and Rapid Improvement Events (RIE).
  • Support the C.I. Team to coach other functions in root cause analysis and problem-solving tools / methods (A3, 8D, etc.)
  • Support annual self-assessments completed at each Plant to include but not limited to ELSS and OpA, as well as formal assessments when required.
  • Support the Team to coordinate Value Stream Mapping to identify opportunities for improvement and eliminate non-value-added activities at the Plant.
  • Analyze and develop reports related to operational and ELSS functional requirements.
  • Support the achievement of Plant Cost Out goals as established by Profit Plan.

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree or master's program in business, economics, management, or a related field. 
  • Have legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom without company sponsorship (we do not sponsor any type of visa for this internship) ready to start on 1st July 2025. 
  • Geographic flexibility to relocate within the UK for the duration of the internship. 

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and planning skills with proven ability to lead change.
  • Can effectively and comfortably speak to different levels of the organisation.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in MS office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams but also feel comfortable working with new software.
