The Challenge Ahead
Criterion - For more than twenty years, Criterion Games has entertained millions of players around the world with our award-winning games, such as Burnout, Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront and Need for Speed. We are a team of accomplished people who create games with joy and passion. At Criterion, we place enormous value on creative collaboration, fresh ideas, and unique perspective.
Responsibilities:
- You will work directly with feature teams to implement new features.
- You will be involved in the whole process including architecture design, implementation, debugging, and tuning.
- You will work on complex problems with other disciplines, including Designers, Artists, and Producers.
- You will work using our Frostbite game engine to develop stable, efficient, and shareable code.
- You will work with people on a large team both locally and remotely.
Qualifications
- You are currently studying at a university/vocational school that has a planned internship period (not a graduate).
- You are available to commence a full-time, 12 month placement in July 2025
- You are located and eligible to work in Guildford, UK without the need for visa/relocation support.
Desired Skills
- An inquisitive mindset to understand how games are made or how to improve them.
- A working knowledge of game engines and programming (ideally C++, but not a requirement).
- Familiarity with solid design principles, software engineering practices, and version control.
- A passion for games, and a desire to create high-quality AAA titles that millions of people want to play.
