Dyson is a global technology enterprise operating in 85 markets. We take things apart and make them work better, using research and development to create new inventions that solve the problems we experience every day. Progress and change is our driving force and we thrive on the opportunity to improve.

Beauty is the fastest growing category in Dyson’s history, selling 4.3 beauty devices a minute last year. Our mission in beauty communications, is to establish Dyson as the leading aspirational beauty innovator, building awareness and credibility for our premium, unique product design and experience. Today Dyson employs many of the brightest and most forward-thinking engineers and scientists in the world. They work on software, robotics, machine learning, motors, acoustics, chemistry, biology, and other areas of research and development, to breathe new life into products and the experiences you have with them.

Our approach makes Dyson rich in opportunity. We value new ideas and diverse perspectives. Our people are trusted to make an impact from the outset. At Dyson, you’ll be part of a global community of “wrong-thinkers” that thrive in disrupting the status quo and learning through failure, who support and encourage each other at all levels of the business.

At Dyson we like to do things differently. We look for the brightest new graduates with a curious attitude to contribute to our unique culture. You will be able to hone your discipline from a strong team of leaders and peers, whilst being encouraged to have real impact on the business through autonomy and freedom to excel. Many of our graduates become future leaders. This is why we look for self-starters with real-world experience; people who are resilient and agile, motivated to drive themselves, and others, forward and contribute to a positive wider societal impact.

About the role

In pioneering new technology, we continually challenge conventional thinking. The launch of the Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer in 2016 brought much-needed innovation to the premium haircare sector, which had seen relatively little change since the electric handheld dryers of the 1960s.

The Dyson SupersonicTM hair dryer — with its new ergonomic format, improved acoustics, superior attachments, and clever air multiplier technology — revolutionised the category through the experience users had. With the addition of the Dyson AirwrapTM styler in 2018, the Dyson CorraleTM straightener in 2020, the Dyson AirstraitTM and new intelligent hair dryers entering the range, including NuralTM and rTM, being never satisfied with past success, Dyson engineers are continuously striving to advance engineering, bringing people better ways to style hair more healthily, across all hair types.

Our ambitions in beauty are bold and we may take unexpected turns in the years to come. You will be a part of the strategic team that crafts the stories that will bring these innovations to market, ensuring exceptionally disruptive activity that’s in service of the nature of Dyson products themselves. Competition is fierce in beauty and the space is an exciting world; ensuring Dyson has white space is critical.

Alongside our range of consumer technology, Dyson engineers for professional stylists. These advocates are among our most important, with a professional recommendation being the second most important purchasing factor for consumers. Stylists love innovation and it takes skill to enter their world and gain their trust. Your role will be to expertly navigate up and coming talent as well as icons in the industry, to bring culture and aspiration to product for Dyson, including Film, Fashion, Music and Sports activity.

As the Beauty Communications Graduate, you will focus on Dyson’s beauty category, supporting the Global Head of Beauty Communications in delivering the annual Beauty Advocacy calendar, working with key regions to celebrate their identity whilst ensuring Dyson’s strong beauty identity is adhered to in key markets and broader territories.

Your role as part of the Global Communications Team and within the Beauty Business Unit, is to seek out these internal experts; help them to develop their media skills, and perfectly pair them with a strategic community of highly influential experts, celebrities, journalists, stylists, content creators and owners, to inspire and educate them and achieve our goal to support the business with authenticity.
