Working as part of our Buying team, you'll work closely with our Merchandisers to ensure our products are in the right place, at the right time. You will help developing and selling products that represent fantastic value for money, offer great quality, are innovative and sustainable. You will also be responsible for trading ranges to optimise sales and profit and for developing strong relationships with our suppliers.

This role is the next step up in our career path. First, there's the Buying Assistant position, where we offer an 18-month training program to help you transition to becoming a Junior Buyer. Then, there's the Buyer role, where we provide a variety of specialised courses and training sessions to support your progression. It's all about helping you grow and develop. This role is a hybrid opportunity.

What you'll be doing

  • Support Buyer in departmental strategy, sub-category management, and data-driven performance enhancement.
  • Analyse sales, profits, historical performance, and pricing for strategic decision-making.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, develop new products, and plan ranges, pricing, and exit strategies.
  • Build successful long-term relationships with the supply base, which involves and in-depth understanding of the supply chain and production processes.
  • Contribute to promotional buying, seasonal campaigns, and critical path planning.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Web teams for optimal product showcasing and web presentation.
  • Mentor and develop Buying Assistant, ensuring accurate line setup, costings, and quality standards.
