We have a number of opportunities across our sites throughout the UK for a student placement in Finance within Dunbia.  The Finance Placement year will give you the opportunity to gain hands-on financial experience within a manufacturing industry as well as develop professional behavioural skills such as leadership, organisational, presentation and communication skills. You will also be given an insight into working in a challenging, fast-paced environment with real responsibilities. As a placement student you are treated as a full employee and given as much support as you may need to ensure that the transition from university to working life is smooth.

You will find yourself working alongside senior finance and accounting professionals and will be involved in accounting activities and will carry reporting and analytical responsibilities for financial information.  When you join Dunbia as a Finance Placement Student you will embark on an industrial placement year that gives you a high level of exposure to decision making and places you at the very heart of our business.

Responsibilities

You will be hands on from the start, with plenty of learning opportunities and time for consolidation through a structured workbook and placement package.

Gaining a full understanding of the accounts function is key for a successful career in the Finance & Accounting field and so obtaining knowledge of the following areas is targeted:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable and Credit Control
  • Weekly Accounts & KPIs
  • Month end reconciliations and reporting in accordance with the month end timetable
  • Engaging with the Site Finance team and other UK Site Finance teams to investigate and resolve ad hoc issues
  • Assists with financial analysis interpreting financial data by analysing trends, variances, opportunities, and risks to provide insight to stakeholders regarding financial impact to drive business improvement.
  • Management Reporting and Continuous Analysis

Qualifications

  • You will be enrolled at a University which offers a 1 year industrial placement;
  • Studying towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related field;
  • Enthusiastic, curious and motivated to identify and implement changes;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent time management;
  • Understanding of team dynamics, demonstrating the ability to work as an active and constructive member of a team with a professional enthusiastic attitude;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.
