Ready for a future as a Solicitor at a top Insurance Firm?
If you are a graduate, passed the LPC and think you’ve got what it takes to join a leading Insurance practice, then qualifying as a Solicitor specialising in Professional Indemnity work might just be the way forward for you – and applications are now open!
About us
You will be joining an excellent team of pre-litigation and litigation experts who are driven to developing their practice and delivering great results for their clients.
The Professional and Financial Risks (“Profin”) team at Keoghs has quickly established itself as a major force in the London insurance market, providing a highly personalised, efficient and cost-effective claims service.
The team continues to evolve rapidly, attracting new clients and developing a highly regarded profile in this specialist class of business. We act for insurers and a diverse range of different professionals in the defence of professional indemnity claims.
These include solicitors, license conveyancers, surveyors, architects and engineers and we also advise insurers on complex policy coverage issues.
The opportunity
As a trainee in the London Profin team you will be involved in all aspects of the work we do, and gain experience of dealing with claims at the pre-action stage and following the commencement of proceedings. The value of these claims can range from a few thousand pounds right through to complex, multi-party disputes, worth several million pounds.
You will obtain a working knowledge of how different professions operate as well as being exposed to different types of law. For example, in dealing with claims against other solicitors, claims can arise from corporate and commercial transactions, property disputes (both residential and commercial), probate and family matters or employment disputes.
Typical responsibilities will include attending meetings, taking attendance notes, preparing bundles and drafting correspondence and there will be plenty of scope for your role to develop once you become more experienced.
Finally, we operate very much as a team and there will be lots of opportunities to become involved in business development activities with clients both in terms of social events and assisting in preparing and/or speaking/presenting at seminars and training workshops.
