As an integral part of the ICT team, the ICT Operations Support Intern will provide essential operational support and administration for ICT systems and services. This role involves updating and managing asset databases, tracking changes, and planning refresh programs to ensure smooth ICT operations across the organization.
You will support CNH Industrial businesses across four sites, catering to approximately 800 PC users who rely on local and centralized systems. You’ll also manage telephony services, including 600 mobile phones (Android smartphones) and 100 mobile broadband devices.
Essential responsibilities
In this dynamic position, you will gain hands-on experience and training in various technical activities, including:
- Day-to-Day Operational Support:
- Oversee mobile telephony and home broadband support for field staff.
- Maintain local and corporate ICT asset databases.
- Analyze and plan the ongoing PC refresh program.
- Manage telecom invoices, resolving discrepancies, and allocating costs.
- Collaborate with users at all levels to provide advice, training, and support for ICT equipment and services.
- Coordinate with ICT suppliers to ensure timely support and service delivery, monitoring service levels and escalating issues as needed.
- Provide operational management support and assist with ad-hoc projects.
- Server Management:
- Test and apply updates and patches.
- Manage user access to server data and resources.
- Monitor scheduled processes and backups, ensuring effective disaster recovery policies are in place.
- Application Support and Management:
- Monitor application status, conduct problem determination, and liaise with suppliers for patches and fixes.
- Facilitate user access to local systems.
- Ad-Hoc Project Support:
- Collaborate with ICT colleagues and business units to define project deliverables and engage external suppliers as necessary.
- Assist in problem resolution, communication, and risk assessment.
Impact
ICT services are vital for the organization’s daily operations. Your role will help maintain high service availability, preventing disruptions that could affect production and communication for field-based personnel. By administering the asset database, you’ll help control costs and ensure the right tools are available.
Communication
You’ll interact with nearly all company employees, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills. Your role will also involve managing external service providers, ensuring they meet service level agreements (SLAs) and addressing any issues promptly. Proper documentation and process adherence will minimize repetitive interventions.
