As part of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office you’ll work on issues that matter to millions of people, at the centre of world events. Your postings will be fascinating and fast-paced, as you help to develop and implement policies that promote the interests of British citizens, safeguard the UK’s security, and tackle poverty and other global challenges.

With a tailored programme focussed on leadership skills and growing your knowledge in diplomatic tradecraft and international development, you’ll also have access to mentoring and work shadowing. This will be enhanced by on-the-job learning and the opportunity to gain recognised language qualifications.

To apply, you'll need

  • British citizenship (those with dual nationality may apply).
  • To have been a resident in the UK for at least 5 of the previous 10 years, including a consecutive 12-month period.
  • A 2:2, a degree apprenticeship or higher (or be expecting to achieve this) in any subject
