About CIL

CIL is an international management consultancy that helps clients to grow their businesses, build value and invest wisely. Most of our engagements involve an M&A element, primarily to advise private equity firms who are looking to invest in high growth businesses. Increasingly, we follow these engagements with strategy work to help investors and management teams make the most of the growth opportunities available to their businesses.

Although we work in structured project teams, we are socially very equal, lively and inclusive. There are no corner offices, no cliques – we work in open-plan offices and are not political. We think ‘a culture’ is something other firms have to invent. Ours is the product of the people we employ.

Background to the HR team & role

CIL’s HR team supports ~200 people working across five offices across the UK, Europe and the US. This role reports into our Resourcing & Talent Development Manager (based in the UK) and primarily supports our UK and European offices (~170 people, of which 150 are based in the UK with ~10 in each of Munich and Paris) across all generalist HR matters.

These include onboarding, learning & development, staff welfare, resourcing support and much more - you'll get exposure to all aspects of HR within a high-performing people business. Our culture is a real source of pride for us and the work we do in the HR team helps underpin that.

The HR Executive role would suit someone who:

  • Has impeccable attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a natural appetite for learning – everything else in the role can be taught / picked up through experience, but these traits are essential.
  • Is comfortable managing a varied to-do list with strong upward management skills.
  • Can be trusted handling confidential / sensitive information.
  • Has a keen interest in people’s wellbeing and development.
  • Doesn’t mind having the occasional difficult conversation.
  • Is interested in building a career in HR within a high-performing team.
