We are looking for an independent and process-driven individual to join our Research Operations team here at Chambers and Partners as a Research Operations Assistant.
About the role
The role includes preparation of contacts ready for our research, entailing scrupulous attention to detail to ensure correct individual and organisation information is obtained and displayed to the requirements of the researcher.
Basic database maintenance of individual and organisation records is also required, involving running administrative programs in an accurate and timely manner in addition to ad hoc and bespoke updates.
You will be required to provide research survey administrative support by emailing survey invites, checking completion rates, survey coverage and quality to the scheduling requirements of the researcher.
Other ad hoc and occasional research support duties may arise such as assisting Research Directors with updating key items within our research workflow platform.
Training will be provided to underpin processes, skills and system use.
Progression in role will mean you will be able to grow specialist research support and operations skills and knowledge as the team matures in scope
Main duties and responsibilities
- Reporting to the Research Operations Team Manager
- Preparing contact information for researchers, matching contacts for research against the master database
- Basic database admin/updating using in-house programs
- Supporting database cleaning/editing activities as required by the Research Operations Manager
- Distributing survey invites using in-house systems, to a schedule as specified by the researcher
- Advising and communicating with researchers to ascertain requirements in a timely manner
- Keeping points of contact in research and Research Operations Team updated on progress
- Delivering to researcher requirements as overseen by the Research Operations Team Manager
- Work collaboratively with Research Operations Team colleagues and manager to meet team key targets in terms of volume, turnaround and delivery
- Undertake ad hoc research support as requested by the Research Operations Team Manager
Skills and experience
- Experience of research admin and or team support process admin
- Basic MS Office skills, including excel

- An eye for detail, process and deadlines
- Able to retain instruction and consolidate knowledge
- Able to work on several requirements at the same time and prioritise work lists to business need
- Keep work prioritisation dynamic according to need – i.e. capable of at a least a daily review/refresh of your priority list
- Able to work independently whilst being a supportive and collaborative team player
- Awareness of a centralised database admin requirements
- Basic MS Office skills, including excel
