Purpose

Advises and guides the company on EHS matters to ensure the safety and health of the workforce, and the protection of the environment.  Ensures the company is aware of, and complies with applicable environmental, health and safety legislative and other requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant statistic, performance to goals and other records necessary to document EH&S Management System status and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Review of the site’s waste management generation monthly.
  • Maintain metrics for assessing EH&S effectiveness.
  • Works with Supervisors, Trainers and Technicians to identify and control significant environmental, health and safety impacts of operations.
  • Contributes to the development the site’s Safety Statement to include hazard identification, hazard risk assessment, and hazard control programmes and participates in their implementation.
  • Participates in working with internal committees and training efforts.
  • Ensures that all required EHS records are prepared and maintained.
  • Participates in and prepares for EHS inspections by external agencies, and all system audits.
  • Supports and contributes to the site’s EHS programmes to include emergency response.
  • Understands and proactively follows through on the Environmental Health & Safety Management Procedures that have been identified as relevant to position.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Honours Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science or Health & Safety or Sustainability Qualification.
  • Must have graduated within the last two years or in final year of university 
  • Relevant work experience/ co-op programme completed, desired but not essential.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland
  • Good Communication & Technical Skills
