Join us for your placement year in summer 2025! Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what it's like to work for a world-renowned brand with a culture of support and community.

The Manufacturing Engineering team plays a key role in the end-to-end process of manufacturing, from planning and designing to the implementation of equipment and machinery. We are responsible for developing and optimizing the systems and processes required to produce a wide range of products, including appliances, appliance accessories, and spare parts specifically for the UK market. This includes not only the technical design and setup of production lines but also ensuring that the manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Technical Expertise: Provide support by creating detailed 3D CAD designs and drawing on NX & AutoCAD.
  • Driving Innovation: Design, procure, and implement advanced production equipment to power forward-thinking improvement projects.
  • Optimizing Manufacturing: Plan and implement efficient processes by selecting the best methods and equipment, running trials, refining plant layouts, creating work instructions, and managing the launch of new production processes.
  • Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead and engage in problem-solving initiatives to drive sustained process improvements.
  • Ownership of Procurement: Take charge of the department’s purchasing process to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Versatile Engineering Tasks: Tackle various production engineering duties as needed to maintain optimal performance.

Qualifications

Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.

Our ideal candidate must have

  • Be an undergraduate student pursuing an Engineering-related degree, with a keen interest in completing a 12-month work placement as part of your studies.

Our ideal candidate should have

  • Proficient in 3D CAD software and capable of interpreting and creating technical drawings.
  • Confident in challenging ideas and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Able to develop creative solutions to production problems and drive continuous improvements.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and ownership when needed.
  • An enthusiastic and pragmatic approach to tasks, balancing a positive attitude with a practical focus on achieving efficient and effective outcomes.•  Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Adaptable to changing work environments and open to embracing new digital tools and processes.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office and quick to learn new company systems.
  • A desire to continue their professional career with the Bosch group
