Join us for your placement year in summer 2025! Our internships are designed to give you an insight into what it's like to work for a world-renowned brand with a culture of support and community.

This proactive role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful change at Worcester Bosch, based within our BPS/Planning department, where we are anchored in lean management and continuous improvement. As we embrace lean operations and Industry 4.0 on a global scale, you will work alongside experts in lean management to take ownership of projects that streamline our production flow at Clay Cross and that could scale to impact Bosch sites worldwide.Insert a brief description of the department.

In this role, you will be responsible for

Your role: Collaborate, innovate, and lead your own improvement projects across logistics, production, and information flows—working with core departments like Health & Safety, Engineering, and more. Your ideas and contributions will directly influence the future of our operations and Bosch’s long-term energy strategies.

Core responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Work closely with our logistics and manufacturing teams to lead process improvements around kanban control, material flow, information flow, and product databases. You’ll have end-to-end responsibility for managing and implementing your projects, supported by seasoned mentors.
  • Continuous Improvement & Strategic Planning: Dive into continuous improvement projects across the year, with full ownership over your own initiatives. Play a vital role in driving long-term strategic plans that improve efficiency and productivity across our sites.
  • Data & Process Management: Oversee and maintain internal databases, streamline production processes, and ensure that essential production data is accurately processed and optimized using platforms like MS Excel.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with departments across the site, offering support, guidance, and expertise on active projects. This includes alignment with HR to assist in managing annualized hours, holiday management, training matrices, and more.
  • Project Coordination: Facilitate alignment across project teams to ensure milestones and deadlines are met. Run planning meetings, check-ins, and project reviews to maintain momentum and deliver results.
  • Organizational Impact: From controlling site-wide logistics to improving data flow and supporting production processes, you’ll be directly involved in projects that enhance the entire Clay Cross site.

Qualifications

Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an undergraduate student seeking a placement year as part of your degree - if you do not meet these criteria please consider applying for other positions.

Our ideal candidate should have

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with a strong interest in developing skills in business management, project management, and logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Eager to expand your expertise by gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic sector, applying theoretical knowledge in a practical, impactful setting.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, with a readiness to learn new software and master complex systems.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Adaptable and resourceful in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle sudden changes and tackle unexpected challenges.
  • Confident communicator, skilled in both written and verbal interactions across all levels of the organization.
  • Creative problem-solver, ready to present new ideas and take initiative to drive improvements.

The following skills and attributes would be a bonus but aren't essential to the role

  • Experience of a team setting.
  • Experience with problem-solving and managing workloads.
  • Experience of managing or working within a project.
  • Experience with communication skills
