What you’ll be doing

Working within the Vehicle Dynamics team, you will have exposure to the best luxury cars in the world. In this role you will gain invaluable experience, through managing your own projects, developing the dynamic character of the cars, whilst working alongside and being mentored by industry leading vehicle dynamics professionals. Your main responsibilities include;

  • Support development of vehicle dynamics attributes i.e. Ride, Handling and Steering.
  • Help to create the vehicle development plans in line with the project milestones
  • Planning vehicle development test trips, ensuring all vehicles and spare parts are at the right location at the right time
  • Organise competitor car assessments for benchmarking
  • Collaborate with the Vehicle Motion simulation team to understand how to develop a vehicle virtually, using software tools and driving simulators

About the function

Vehicle dynamics are responsible for three key attributes that make a Bentley drive like a Bentley. They are lateral dynamics, ride comfort and steering. We collaborate together with the Vehicle Motion team and the wider Research and Design department to specify the chassis technology, playing a key role in supporting the Beyond100 strategy.

Education

The successful candidates will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in the following degrees: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering. Alternatively, we welcome candidates with a degree in Physics and Maths.

Skills:

  • Great communication
  • Ability to integrate quickly within a team
  • Exposure to Motorsport or vehicle restoration projects
  • Working knowledge of virtual development methods is advantageous
  • Formula student member is desired but not essential
  • Valid driving licence or race licence is desired but not essential
