2. Studio Engineering Design
The Studio Engineering team plays a crucial role in bringing Bentley’s design vision to reality. Here, our design-minded engineers support our world-class designers with technical knowledge and creative solutions to deliver feasible best-in-class designs. In this role, you will gain a unique insight into the design process at Bentley Motors, developing technical expertise, stakeholder management, communication skills and playing a key role in delivering Bentley’s future design vision. Your main responsibilities include;
- Assessing design proposals, including digital data and physical properties, against technical and project requirements
- Presenting to designers, engineers and stakeholders across the business in design reviews
- Benchmarking competitors and collaborating with other brands in the Volkswagen Group on strategic synergy topics and innovations
2. Design Validation
The design validation team is responsible for delivering digital and physical toolsets and processes to enable the business to review and validate the design of new Bentley products. In this role you will gain invaluable experience developing the skills necessary to validate designs, build digital models and utilise virtual reality to enable issue identification and resolution. Your main responsibilities include;
- Work proactively with the validation team and members of the wider business to support the validation of design data
- Develop digital and virtual reality processes and toolsets
- Build digital models for data review
About the function
The Studio Engineering and Design Validation Industrial Placements sit within the wider Design Function. Design at Bentley means working on a live project, making a difference to the actual product from day one. Ours is an intimate collaborative studio environment, and our creative culture radiates throughout the business. The Design team is responsible for creating everything from the initial sketch to the final production design, including exterior and interior design, UX and colour, materials and finish. We’re privileged to see our work realised through the highest craftsmanship and finest materials.

Education
The successful candidates will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in the following degree subjects: Engineering or a Product Design Degree. Alternatively we will consider candidates who have knowledge of Virtual Reality and 3D applications.
