There are three Industrial Placements available

Please apply for one industrial placement position only, outlining your preference in your cover letter. We will review applications for all suitable positions.

Finance Sales & Marketing

Working within the sales and marketing team you will gain invaluable experience working alongside finance professionals and being mentored by the Head of Finance. You will get an insight into a variety of Business Partnering roles, how finance control activities, and influence business owners to meet Bentley’s finance targets. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Finance Manager, supporting month, quarter and year end close activities through the preparation and completion of month end journals
  • Manage monthly budget review meetings with Sales & Marketing budget holders
  • Support the finance team to improve processes and systems to make reporting more accurate and efficient

Finance Engineering

Working within the finance engineering team you will gain invaluable experience working alongside the Senior Finance Manager and Engineering budget holders. The team are responsible for managing all Intercompany Finance matters ranging from payments for shared development to long term contracts for parts supply. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Support with managing the budget of the Engineering department through attending budget meetings and the creation of expenditure reports
  • Conducting financial performance analysis
  • Contribute to the overall finance strategy through participation in various work streams

Finance Project Controlling

Project Controlling forms a major part of the total Finance function. In this role you will work cross functionally with all areas of the business, analyse, question and understand real life data – from sales revenues to unit cost to investment and expected returns – a real life spin on what you’ve studied so far. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Support the project delivery teams making sure that new car projects deliver to their financial targets
  • Finance management including: reporting, forecasting, spend approval and analysis
  • Attend project meetings and advise on financial topics

Education

The successful candidates will be on track to achieve a 2:1 in Accounting & Finance, or a Business related degree and be considering post graduate accounting qualifications e.g. CIMA.

  • Work experience in a Business related environment desired but not essential
