Reporting to the Senior Project Manager you will support the Partnerships team in identifying and successfully bidding public sector land and partnering opportunities. To play a supporting role in securing large scale, complex development and regeneration schemes to meet the needs and targets of the business.
Your responsibilities will include
- Support the tracking and identification of all relevant development opportunities across England, Scotland and Wales through a range of methods, e.g. thorough monitoring the Find a Tender Service portal and existing Housing Frameworks
- Assist the Partnerships team in ensuring BP Directors, Divisional Development Directors, Managing Directors and Regional Managing Directors are effectively briefed.
- Support the delivery of compliant, high-quality bids to acquire land for divisions through the stages of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Selection Questionnaires, Soft Market Testing, Expression of Interest, Sifting Submission and ITT Submissions.
- Assist in the liaison with relevant divisional departments, e.g. Land/ Technical/Commercial/Sales/Finance, and external consultants if required (e.g. architects / graphic designers) throughout the bid process.
- Support the briefing of professionals/consultants on company and client requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial information in public sector Tender Forms and development appraisal templates.
- After contract exchange, support the production of accurate reporting for the Business and Partners.
- Support the maintenance and growth of Partnerships' Bid Library and marketing material and assist in the identification of new and emerging topics/themes.
- Support the Partnerships team with new/changing Government Policy, Group Policy and public land initiatives working with relevant Group functions and producing briefing papers as required.
- Assist with the project management of projects, complex procurements and other relevant duties as required
- Support the provision of information in timely and accurate manner to assist with the production of internal Board reports.
- Support the provision of information for monthly compliance meetings with public sector partners.
- Promote and act in accordance with Group values, Partnerships Policy, Delegations of Authority, systems, policies and procedures.
What you'll need
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
- Enthusiastic, knowledgeable person familiar with public land bidding and delivery including land sales, commercial, technical, design, legal aspects.
- Ideally qualified to degree standard in a relevant subject, e.g. Planning, Property Surveying, Technical Engineering or Development
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be self-disciplined and well organised, focused on meeting deadlines and able to manage shifting priorities.
- Numerate, able to support the presentation of complex financial information (including development appraisals and cashflows) in a clear format with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to present effectively.
- Articulate, clear and credible, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to communicate with a wide range of people, engender rapport and trust, and develop and maintain key contacts.
- Negotiating and influencing skills.
- An innovative thinker, with the drive to seek out and pursue potential development opportunities.
- Strong administrative and IT skills are essential.
- Knowledge of Homes England, Registered Providers and experience of developing successful relationships.
- A driving licence is required with occasional regional and national travel expected as part of the job.
