To assist in the electrical design and procurement of specialist packages.

What you'll be doing

As a Trainee Engineer, you will support the Engineering Team with the following deliverables;

  • Design LV electrical distribution systems with support from engineers.
  • Create the following documentation with support from Engineers:
    • Specifications & Datasheets
    • Motor Control Centres (MCC)
    • LV Switchgear
    • UPS & DC Charger systems
    • Lighting & Small Power
    • Control & Marshalling Panels
    • SCADA/DCS systems
    • Instrumentation
  • Calculations & Schedules
    • LV Cable Calculations
    • Cable, Equipment & Load schedules
    • IO Schedules
    • Earthing calculations
    • Protection Coordination
    • Lighting Calculations
  • Drawings
    • SLD, BCD, termination & Interlocking diagrams
    • Earthing drawings
    • Layout GA’s
    • Instrument Hook-Ups
    • Instrument Loop drawings
  • Review and check manufacturer document / information for electrical compliance with project specifications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers.

Who we're looking for

Qualities and experience

  • Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and Project teams to deliver cost effective and acceptable design solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design.
  • Excellent IT Skills are desirable, and Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
  • Experience in a broad range of industries such as Petrochemical, Power Generation and Nuclear
  • Awareness of HVAC systems, SCADA and communication networks
  • Awareness of analytical software such as AMTECH, SKM & ERACS
  • Awareness of Revit/Navisworks 3D packages
