To assist in the electrical design and procurement of specialist packages.
What you'll be doing
As a Trainee Engineer, you will support the Engineering Team with the following deliverables;
- Design LV electrical distribution systems with support from engineers.
- Create the following documentation with support from Engineers:
- Specifications & Datasheets
- Motor Control Centres (MCC)
- LV Switchgear
- UPS & DC Charger systems
- Lighting & Small Power
- Control & Marshalling Panels
- SCADA/DCS systems
- Instrumentation
- Calculations & Schedules
- LV Cable Calculations
- Cable, Equipment & Load schedules
- IO Schedules
- Earthing calculations
- Protection Coordination
- Lighting Calculations
- Drawings
- SLD, BCD, termination & Interlocking diagrams
- Earthing drawings
- Layout GA’s
- Instrument Hook-Ups
- Instrument Loop drawings
- Review and check manufacturer document / information for electrical compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers.
Who we're looking for
Qualities and experience
- Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and Project teams to deliver cost effective and acceptable design solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design.
- Excellent IT Skills are desirable, and Microsoft Office is essential.
- Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material.
- Experience in a broad range of industries such as Petrochemical, Power Generation and Nuclear
- Awareness of HVAC systems, SCADA and communication networks
- Awareness of analytical software such as AMTECH, SKM & ERACS
- Awareness of Revit/Navisworks 3D packages
