This programme allows you to work across the whole software development lifecycle as you learn about our Information Systems Department and Baillie Gifford as a firm. You’ll discover how technology drives the business forward in the fast-evolving investment management industry.

Following a week’s induction, you and your fellow interns will work together on a live technical project for the firm. What’s important is that you’ll have responsibility for the entire lifecycle – from initial brief to project planning, programming, testing and delivery. We’ll ensure you spend quality time with our experienced technical and business leads, who will share their knowledge with you and support you throughout the process.

Running alongside your project, you will have a range of development opportunities with other teams in the department. During your first weeks, as you gather requirements for your project, you will spend time learning from our business analysts. You’ll also learn more about our Agile working environment and see how other teams put Agile methods into practice from our project managers. You will also gain insights into quality analysis and development procedures by seeing the work of testers and developers first-hand.

We will give you the complete working experience to help you decide whether a career in technology is right for you. You’ll get the training and support you need to broaden your skills, establish your career path and discover your future potential.
