The role

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop as a Mechanical Engineer within a high-profile and prestigious energy project within an international, ‘people-first’ organisation.

Day-to-day, you’ll perform feasibility studies, site surveys and liaise with station engineering staff to identify scope of works required.

  • You will be involved with producing from scratch or amending existing engineering documentation such as mechanical drawings, quality plans, installation method statements.
  • Review and approve contractor RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement).
  • Carry out secondary roles as required by the Cavendish Site Manager. Training will be supplied as required.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Heysham, Lancashire.

About you

Essential experience of the Junior Mechanical Engineer

  • Mechanical bias preferred but multidiscipline experience will be considered.
  • Experience of identifying, implementing and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and all site based legislative requirements.
  • Have good leadership skills and experience with supervising contractors during project installation phases. Acting as installation team leader where necessary.
  • Have a strong health and safety culture able to lead by example and provide coaching where necessary.
  • Able to produce a turnkey package of work (Documentation, Install Supervision, testing and sign off to the client once complete).

Qualifications for the Junior Mechanical Engineer

  • Preferably a degree in relevant engineering discipline, or
  • HNC/HND in relevant engineering discipline.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
