This role will involve working with underwriters, information technology development teams, and actuarial team members. The insurance business at AXA XL is comprised of many product coverages that are offered globally.
The pricing team is focused on managing the portfolios to ensure continued profitable growth and developing talent to deliver the best for their customers and clients.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Building pricing models for new products or where the tools do not currently exist and fostering their use.
- Maintaining and streamlining existing actuarial pricing tools, including working with senior team
- members to update parameters and methods.
- Management of data collection processes from pricing tools and analysis of that data
- Interfacing with information technology development and support teams to scope and implement changes to existing pricing tools.
- Case pricing of large risks
- Managing the portfolio, assessing the expected profitability and risk of products through review, analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative information and trends
- Training and guidance to the underwriters on using the pricing tools.
- Troubleshooting any user problems with the pricing tools
- Development and review of key price monitoring metrics
- Ad hoc requests
About you
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- An innovative thinker who can provide solutions from both an actuarial and business perspective with:
- Focus on quality and integrity.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues in different functions and at different experience levels.
- A self-motivated problem solver with a keen attention to detail & highly organised
- Effective Excel skills.
- Knowledge of VBA, SQL, R and/or Python is a bonus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Science or other numerate degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Analytical skills to evaluate business segment profitability.
- Mental agility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
