The International Casualty, UK Retail Underwriting Team within AXA XL offers insurance solution for Employers’ and General liability as well as Environmental Impairment Liability for a diverse portfolio of large and corporate clients globally, spanning a broad range of trades from manufacturing and engineering to automotive all the way through to food and beverage manufacturers.
The team offers innovative risk transfer and risk management solutions that meet the needs of today’s local businesses and global players alike, by working closely with dedicated loss prevention service units and account management teams.

As an Assistant Underwriter you will support the Underwriters in all tasks related to the underwriting and administration support. You will work closely with our Underwriters supporting them in their activities associated with renewals, maintenance of the accounts and on models and systems. As a excellent team player, you will assist the team in data quality assurance and continuous development of best practice in Business Services. You will utilize your communication and relationship building skills as you work closely with the underwriters, clients and various functions and departments within the company.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Timely request to the offshore team for quote creation and name clearance.
- Submitting timely and accurate binding requests (handovers) to the offshore team for new and renewal business
- Preparing quote and policy documentation and working with underwriters to ensure timely issuance.
- Conducting pre-underwriting for renewals, handling endorsements on active business, conducting specific analyses for new business, and following up on renewals.
- Completion of the monthly casualty rate change monitor (DPI)
- Requesting loss runs, completing financial health checks and obtaining renewal data from brokers as part of the renewal process.
- Assisting the accounts department in managing the aged debt as required.
- Other tasks as required to maintain the efficient running of the unit.
