It's all about challenging the status quo, identifying and solving problems, developing new solutions, and delivering change across our business. Does this sound like you?

Job Description

We have been in business for over 320 years. Two things we’ve learned – never rest on your laurels and always look for ways to innovate and improve.

Challenging the status quo, identifying and solving problems, creating innovative new solutions and delivering change across our business. In a nutshell, that’s what being an Aviva graduate in Change & Transformation is all about.

Change & Transformation touches pretty much every area of our business and there are various routes you can take within the discipline. For ease, we have grouped them into three main areas: Technology Change, Customer Change, People and Strategy Change.

We encourage applicants to be as open as possible about the different routes into Change & Transformation roles at Aviva. However, you will be able to tell us on your application if you have a preferred role and location.

  • Technology Change: Our business looks to this team to guide how technology can solve business problems and deliver changes that are creating better experiences for customers and colleagues. You don’t need to be a tech expert. Instead, we look for people who are naturally curious and big picture thinkers. People who understand the impact technology can have and are eager to make change happen. Example roles in this area include:
  • Business Analysts (Norwich or Perth) Our Business Analysts evaluate business opportunities and identify areas for improvement. They capture requirements and drive solutions by helping us understand the customer needs we need to meet
  • Project Managers (Bristol, Norwich or York) Our Project Managers are experts in organising – both themselves and others! They’re comfortable taking the lead, but make sure everyone is heard. They ensure things get done in the right way and on time.
  • Exec & Events Support (London) – Our IT Exec & Events Support team provide on-site IT support for Aviva’s CEO and their immediate Exec team. Being the technical expertise at high-profile events virtually, across the UK and even overseas, they are brilliant organisers and comfortable using technology.
  • Customer Change (York, Sheffield, Norwich, London, Eastleigh and Perth): If getting close to customers is what you love, then a Customer Change & Transformation role might suit you. These teams look at what we can do to deliver a better customer experience and strengthen the relationships we share with them. You might work on projects to review our operational processes or look at how effective our products are.
  • People & Strategy (Bristol, Norwich, London): We can’t look after our customers properly without looking after ourselves. After all, it’s our colleagues who drive our business success. And we are passionate about finding ways to make working life better for them. From making our HR processes more effective to finding new ways to help our people thrive, in this team you’ll be part of enabling and empowering everyone at Aviva to do what they do even better.

What's in it for you?

  •      A permanent job from day one
  •      A starting salary of £30,600
  •      Support towards relevant professional qualifications and lots of other development opportunities
  •      Flexible working and wellbeing support
  •      A great support network to help you grow into your role
  •      29 days holiday, plus bank holidays
  •      Opportunities to get involved and give back to our local communities with paid volunteering time
  •      Contributory pension scheme
  •      Discounts on all Aviva products
  •      Annual performance-related bonus
  •      Share Save scheme

What do we look for?

  • You will either already have a degree, in any subject, or be on track to graduate by the end of Summer 2023
  • A genuine passion for change, innovation and continual improvement
  • An analytical mind and talent for problem solving
  • An eagerness to question existing ways of doing things
  • A love of learning and commitment to growing
  • The perception to recognise new opportunities

Where will you be based?

Our graduate Change & Transformation roles are in Bristol, Eastleigh, London, Norwich, Perth, Sheffield and York – beautiful, buzzing cities in which to launch your career. Not all role types are available in every location, so you may need to be flexible with regard to where you work and, possibly, willing to relocate if you don’t live within commuting distance.

It is likely that you’ll balance time in the office with working from home. We call this Smart Working. Three days in the office, and two days from home is a very typical example, but will vary between teams. When you join us, your leader will take time to discuss this with you, and agree what works best for you, your team and the organisation.

It’s important to note, as we work this office/home blend you will need to live in commutable distance to one of the locations listed above. That way you will get to spend time with your team in person as well as virtually and get access to the right support networks internally to help you to succeed.
