Internship Duration: 10 week - 1st July – 5th September 2025
Locations: Bristol, Norwich, York
Are you in your penultimate year of university and eager to gain insight into the world of Technology and Change Delivery? If so, a 10-week internship at Aviva could be the perfect opportunity for you.
At Aviva, Change Delivery is about identifying and solving problems, creating innovative solutions, and driving change. This internship is ideal for big-picture thinkers who aren't afraid to challenge the status quo. If you enjoy organising information or people, influencing thinking, and improving processes, this could be a great fit for you.
The internship provides an exciting learning opportunity in an environment where everyone is encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and seek advice. You don't need to be a tech expert or be studying technology related subject to apply. We're looking for naturally curious individuals who understand the transformative power of technology and eager to make change happen. We'll teach you the rest.
Our internships are designed to be a feeder into our Graduate Programmes so after you’ve finished your internship, you might be offered a permanent graduate role starting with us in September 2026 (after you’ve successfully completed your course).
The different roles available:
There are a number of roles within this specialism. We’d encourage you to be as open as possible about the different options, but you can indicate if you have a preferred role. We'll assess your strengths and interests throughout the recruitment process to determine the best fit for you.
Roles in this area include:
Business Analyst (Norwich or York): Our Business Analysts help us understand our customers’ needs – and what’s required to deliver the practical solutions to meet them. If you’re the kind of person who can explain complex concepts and problems in a simple way, this is the place for you. You’ll analyse and evaluate business opportunities (including the supporting data) and identify areas for improvement. And in everything you do, you’ll champion the use of technology to improve how we do things for our 19.6 million customers and thousands of colleagues.
Project Manager (Bristol or Norwich): our Project Managers are the experts in organising – both themselves and others. We look for people who are comfortable taking the lead in a group, and also go out of their way to make sure everyone is heard. With a passion for delivering great customer service and a mix of people and planning skills, you’re just the person to make sure everything gets done in the right way, on time and on budget.
Risk Analyst (Norwich): management of risk plays an important role across all our change deliveries and day-to-day operations. It ensures we’re keeping our technology, our colleagues and, ultimately, our customers safe. As a Risk Analyst you will work with technical and non-technical teams to ensure risks (uncertainties, potential threats) are identified, assessed and have appropriate action plans in place (and managed!) to reduce or remove risk and ensure safe and successful delivery. You’ll have similar skills and strengths to Project Managers and Business Analysts and will be comfortable being curious and inquisitive, collaborating across teams and analysing and identifying areas for improvement.
What you’ll get
● A salary of £26,500 per annum (pro rata for 10 weeks)
● The opportunity to learn from experienced professionals
● A great support network to help you grow into your role
● Build business and interpersonal skills to launch your future career (hopefully with us!)
● The potential of an offer of a permanent graduate role for 2026
● Support towards your personal development
● 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays (pro-rated)
● Flexible working and wellbeing support
What we’re looking for
To be considered for this 10-week summer internship, you must:
● be a penultimate year student studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (in any subject), with one year of study remaining after the internship
● be intending to return to university for your final year of study after the placement
● be interested in the potential of a permanent role to commence Autumn 2026
● be available to work full time (35 hours per week) for the full duration of the internship (1st July 2025 – 5th September 2025)
● have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship whether that be on a permanent basis, or with a visa that would allow you to work 35 hours per week. We are unable to offer sponsorship for anyone requiring sponsorship by Aviva due the roles not meeting the requirements set out by the home office.
And have:
● a genuine passion for change, innovation and continual improvement
● confident communicator with ability to explain the complex clearly
● a love of learning and the drive to keep developing yourself
● an analytical mind and talent for problem solving
● an eagerness to question existing ways of doing things
Where could you be based?
Our Technology & Change Delivery Pathway opportunities are based in Bristol, Norwich and York: all buzzing places in which to launch your career. Not all role types are available in every location (see above for details), so tell us on your application if you have a preference. You will need to live within commuting distance of the office where the role is based or be willing to relocate prior to start date as you’ll need to spend time with your team in person, as well as virtually, working from home. Three days in the office and two days from home (minimum 50%) is typical, but this will vary between teams.
