The role
Our placements provide an opportunity to really learn how a business works. During your placement you will be hands on from day one, you will be actively involved in business projects and your experience and knowledge will be utilised and strengthened during the 13 months with us.
We have an opportunity for you to join the Module Test team and be able to put the knowledge and skills you have gained at university into practice.
You will
- Learn the skills of working in engineering environment, communicating within R&D department and with other departments
- Gain understanding of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)
- Be using MATLAB, LabVIEW, PLC and CAD (NX)
- Be using test equipment – Laser Displacement Sensor, Interferometer, Digital Microscope, High Speed Camera, etc
- Learn how to plan and design hardware testing
- Learn how to conduct test, acquire data and produce test evidence
- Learn how to process & analyse test data
- Learn how to interpretate test data and gain insight into hardware under test
- Present test result to Design Leads and Project team
- Prepare test reports to update stakeholders on test progress, observations and defects found
- Take part in investigation activities to replicate issues and establish root cause
- As well as making contribution to new product development, opportunities to participate in R&D innovation work
- Improve the efficiency of test techniques through automating test
- Development of new test capabilities
- Work as a team and provide support to team members and Module Test lead in all aspects of the development and completion of tasks
About you
Enabling the digital world offers enormous scope to develop your career beyond traditional ideas of progression or promotion. Enabling is always evolving.
We want to hear from enthusiastic individuals who are currently studying for a degree in relevant technical discipline such as Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Hardware design related and:
- Have basic knowledge of Product Creation Process
- Have basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
- Able to use Microsoft Office applications - Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to communicate effectively face to face and in writing with people at various levels in the organisation to build stable and useful working relationships
- Can work effectively as part of a team and individually
- Enjoy problem solving
