This is a broad role with the opportunity to be involved in all aspects that is “finance”. The department is busy, and this role will support the team including Syndicate accounting and reporting, corporate accounting and reporting, treasury, and financial planning and analysis. The role is ideal for someone new to a finance position who’s looking for exposure to help with their career aspirations.
Detailed duties
- Supporting the syndicate team with the day-to-day duties
- Journal postings
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Profit and loss reconciliations
- Working with other departments (Claims, reinsurance and operations) investigating and clearing reconciling items on all reconciliations
- Production of various Group reporting deliverables including Premiums, Reinsurance recoverables, Debtors and Creditors
- Assisting with all controls, ensuring documentation is timely and accurate
- Supporting Corporate accounting team
- Journal postings
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Profit and loss reconciliations
- Foreign exchange revaluation process
- Assisting with all controls, ensuring documentation is timely and accurate
- Supporting the Treasury team
- Journal postings
- Cover for the purchase ledger process
- Ad Hoc duties including production of reports, data analytics
Experience
- Studying finance or business in some capacity
Skills and attributes
- Strong Excel/IT skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on meeting deadlines
