The opportunity
Arup Ireland are seeking talented students to join our Cork or Dublin team. You will also enjoy learning sessions with technical experts within your team, working on local projects and all kinds of social events. You will be working with a team of Strategic Advisory Services professionals from various offices.
Typical work that the Strategic Advisory Team is involved in includes the following:
- Finance & Economics - Demonstrating the financial and economic benefits of our project work and supporting our clients through the investment development and prioritisation process.
- Transport Advisory - Defining and planning how services and/or infrastructure can connect people to opportunity most effectively and efficiently.
- Communications & Organisational Change - Bringing together strategists, change specialists and communication experts to help clients respond to change, maximise capabilities and deliver impact.
- Regularly collaborate with other disciplines and teams in Ireland and across the Europe region such as Foresight and Climate & Sustainable Service.
This is an office-based role, with successful candidates expected to work 5 days per week in the Arup office in Cork or Dublin.
As a work placement student in the Strategic Advisory Team at Arup, you will:
- Support the transformation of recommendations into well-structured and clearly communicated project deliverables.
- Practice creative applications of technology to develop design solutions.
- Utilise communication skills for report writing and visual representations.
- Be able to decipher media reports and the potential effects these may have on our clients.
- Attend and participate in meetings – listen, ask questions.
- Be involved in discussions with team members to gain knowledge & experience.
- Undertake analytical research to develop, document, present concepts.
- Give structure to ideas – lots of “taking a first pass” at spreadsheets, reports, and analyses for discussion later rather than instruction.
- Work on defined tasks under supervision.
