As a Graduate Transport Planner at Arup, you will:

  • Work on transport planning projects within a team set-up.
  • Write reports and other technical outputs in collaboration with senior team members.
  • Carry-out research tasks and site visits in support of projects.
  • Perform traffic and transport analysis using a variety of software (e.g. LinSig, Junctions 9, VISSIM, SATURN, etc).

Projects will likely comprise of:

  • Transportation Assessments
  • Development Planning
  • Masterplan Studies
  • Urban Street Design
  • Traffic and Transport Modelling
  • Mobility Management Planning
  • Transport Analytics and Research

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for graduates who are working towards the completion of their degree (level 8) in a relevant area which may include transport planning, but also civil engineering, urban planning, or sustainable development, preferably with a transport/mobility component.

We also value:

  • Interest and knowledge regarding mobility and transportation, with focus on the role of sustainable modes, integrated networks, infrastructure planning, and new mobility trends.
  • Good understanding of relevant documents such as County and City Development Plans, the Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets, the National Cycle Manual, etc.
  • Good writing skills allied to good numerical skills and knowledge of data analysis and representation tools.
  • Ability to work well within a team and multi-disciplinary environment.
