Assets and Operations

The Assets and Operations Consulting team is part of the Advisory Services Group in Arup. Operations Consulting works at the intersection between the built environment and the people who use and experience it. We advise and deliver solutions that transform the operations and organisational performance and capability of our clients in the UK and beyond. To do this, we focus on people, processes, technology, and assets, implementing solutions that encompass sustainability and innovation.
Candidate degrees can vary significantly, but may include supply chain and logistics, business analysis, operational or general management, asset management, engineering.
Business and Investor Advisory
Available locations: London
Arup's award-winning Business and Investor Advisory (BIA) team works with investors, Local and national Government departments and developers on projects in energy, utility, transport, regeneration and telecoms infrastructure to provide strategic commercial and financial advice. You will work alongside financial, commercial and technical specialists to help provide advice on business cases, potential acquisitions, divestments and development of infrastructure assets
Business and Investor Advisory

Arup's award-winning Business and Investor Advisory (BIA) team is one of the top technical and ESG advisers in the infrastructure markets. Our advice spans the breadth of the project lifecycle and we work across international markets. We help to provide in-depth advice on the financial, commercial and technical issues driving investment across sectors, ultimately delivering and completing project finance transactions, infrastructure M&A's and business cases for major infrastructure projects.
We are looking for individuals with a bachelor's degree (or higher level) in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Economics, Business or Finance discipline, or similar.
Graduate Consultant Assets and Operations
Available locations: Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester
The Assets and Operations Consulting team is part of the Advisory Services Group in Arup. We are active in the Transport, Water, Energy and Rail markets and undertake a wide range of work including:
- Asset Management
- Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
- Innovation and Technology
- Logistics and supply chain
- Assurance and Regulation
- Risk and Resilience
- Business Case and strategic infrastructure planning
- Sustainability and Net Zero Carbon
The team offers high value professional services to help service the complex needs of our clients and develop innovative solutions to their challenges. Projects could range from advising a public body on administering a multimillion-pound innovation fund, to improving asset management practices.

Strategy and Economics

Arup's award-winning Business and Investor Advisory (BIA) team is one of the top technical and ESG advisers in the infrastructure markets. Our advice spans the breadth of the project lifecycle and we work across international
markets. We help to provide in-depth advice on the financial, commercial and technical issues driving investment across sectors, ultimately delivering and completing project finance transactions, infrastructure M&A's and business cases for major infrastructure projects.
You will join a team of around 120 people based in London and Manchester, providing a range of commercial, market and regulatory advisory services to a wide range of clients across multiple sectors including energy, utilities, transport and telecommunications, across international markets.
The typical work we would expect you to deliver will include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct research of sector/market and regulatory frameworks
- Handle and manage large datasets, working with both MS Excel and PLEXOS cloud
- Develop energy market models using PLEXOS
- Support the team to produce commercial/market due diligence reports from a diverse range of sectors
- Support the project teams in preparing presentations on project findings and conclusions
- Business development support – writing and managing proposals, and keeping abreast of potential opportunities
We are looking for candidates with a degree level qualification at grade 2:1 or above. Open to all degree types
