Civil engineering is a central aspect of how we build, maintain and experience the modern world. Arup has been a leader in civil engineering for over 50 years, designing the vital water, energy and transport infrastructure that cities, countries and communities depend on.
We work with clients to plan, build, integrate and maintain a wide variety of civil infrastructure, from bridges to reservoirs, from metro tunnels to off-shore wind farms. Our technical teams address every aspect of civil engineering design, working in close collaboration with the full breadth of Arup’s other design and engineering disciplines.
The opportunity
Due to recent growth within our Energy, water & resources portfolio, we are seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer with a A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, from an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
You will work on a range of projects across the Water and Energy sector supported by a fantastic team within a multi-disciplinary environment.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for the following skills and knowledge:
- Previous work experience in a consultancy environment.
- Strong numerical skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in and application of digital skills, such as computer coding for design automation and problem-solving is an advantage
- Enthusiasm for a career in Civil structures, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work
- Demonstrable understanding of general structural behaviour and an ability to use this understanding to develop practical solutions to meet Client needs
- Drive for technical excellence and an analytical thought process
- Creativity and a desire to think beyond the norm Aptitude to work on your own initiative, be proactive and take responsibility
