IT Software Engineering Summer Internship
During your 8-week internship as a Software Engineer, you will be part of the Operations & Exposure Management product team. With support from the team around you—including the Digital Product Manager, Software Development Manager, and mentorship from Senior and Lead Engineers—you will be guided through your internship and introduced to a variety of skills such as designing, coding, and testing complex software while experiencing life in a corporate environment.
You will be exposed to a breadth of technologies and gain valuable insight into the entire software development lifecycle. Working within a regulated environment, you will understand how business systems are developed and maintained to meet compliance standards, equipping you with real-world software development skills.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with business system owners and users to understand business requests and translate them into technical solutions. You will also work closely with fellow Software Engineers to ensure that engineering implementations align with business requirements.
The Summer Internship runs from Monday 23rd June 2025 - Friday 15th August 2025 and is a paid opportunity.
Key tasks & responsibilities
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with Digital Product Managers, business system owners, and users to understand all stakeholder requirements. Work with the team in an agile environment to refine stories and clarify requirements.
- Software Development: Develop high-quality software solutions in accordance with business specifications. Ensure that engineering implementations align with business needs and are robust, efficient, and maintainable.
- Guidance and Mentorship: Receive guidance from Senior and Lead Engineers to design, code, and test software components. Follow industry best practices and development methodologies to produce reliable software.
- Quality Assurance Collaboration: Collaborate with QA analysts and testers to ensure that all software components are thoroughly tested. Participate in Quality Assurance processes as required to maintain high software quality.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Contribute technical expertise to help stakeholders devise effective and efficient approaches to achieve project and program objectives. Identify and manage technical risks by proactively tracking and communicating issues and devising methods to mitigate them.
- Cross-Team Coordination: Liaise with other project and program teams to coordinate interdependencies and resolve technical issues. Participate in the analysis, mapping, and communication of current and future state business processes, and explore how they can be improved through software solutions.
- Support and Troubleshooting: Assist business units in resolving complex technical issues and user questions related to software applications. Provide support to ensure smooth operation of software systems.
Qualifications & experience
Expected/achieved minimum 2:1 classification in an IT-related degree discipline
