The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for supporting the finance team in the daily operations of the firm. This role involves processing and maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation of internal and external reports, supporting all departments for invoicing, and providing advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Ledger Management: Setting up client accounts, recording transactions, and balancing the ledger, with monthly reconciliation and discrepancy reporting.
- Client Reporting & Data Management: Preparing and reconciling client reports, managing large data sets, and investigating discrepancies across systems.
- Invoicing & Credit Notes: Issuing accurate electronic invoices, reconciling billing systems, and managing credit notes in collaboration with credit control
- Accounting Queries: Addressing internal and external queries on invoicing and reporting, advising on billing best practices.
- Administrative Support: Managing emails, distributing tasks within the finance team, and assisting with document management and year-end processes.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who has an aptitude for working with a variety of complex procedures, and to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate would have:
- Great attention to detail and focus on accuracy
- An analytical approach – be able to work through and solve problems independently
- Strong communication skills – be able to adapt the communication style, as appropriate
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Confidence in using Excel and other MS Office applications
- Effective time management - consistently meeting deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills – prioritising tasks appropriately
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills.
