Position summary

  • Windows Server environment management and support – mixture of virtual and physical servers.
  • VMware environment support and monitoring.
  • Internal LAN support, monitoring and maintenance – consisting of HPE/Aruba Edge/Cisco Core switches.
  • Support and monitoring of a Veeam Backup Solution.
  • Support and maintenance of a Mitel on-premise telephone system.
  • On-premise Active Directory administration.
  • Support of approximately 150 UK based users – office and home based.
  • Support of approximately 250 UK based computers.
  • Support and maintenance of on-site Multifunction Printers (MFPs).
  • Support and management of a mobile device fleet.
  • Support of software including O365 Apps, SolidWorks and Corporate security tools.
  • Ensure all IT equipment onsite is protected and in compliance with Corporate IT requirements.
  • Ensure Corporate IT policies, procedures and financial SOX requirements are maintained and complied with.
  • Procure new IT equipment from approved suppliers.
  • Liaise with Corporate IT for support with systems under their supervision (Azure/O365/Exchange/Intune).

Key responsibilities

  • Lead/support IT infrastructure projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems within designated timeframes.
  • Ensure security and integrity of data and network access.
  • Identify problematic systems and areas within the business and implement strategic solutions to bring systems into compliance.
  • Monitor performance of IT systems and make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure and architecture to increase performance while limiting downtime.
  • Analyse business IT infrastructure requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation to develop solutions for IT needs.

Requirements for consideration

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience working in IT operations.
  • Experience of successfully managing and/or supporting IT infrastructure projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritise.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
