About the opportunity
We are the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
We provide the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. To support the delivery of the SCP (Sixep Continuity Plant) Project, we are seeking an Control Systems Engineer to join the team in Hinton House, Birchwood, Warrington.
Role description
- Development of PLC and/or SCADA system design and options from customer requirements
- Development of Simulation Software to facilitate testing of PLC/SCADA application
- Fully conversant with control system design lifecycle, with an appreciation of each stage
- Thorough appreciation for QA and governance of PLC/SCADA design delivery
- Development of high-level design documentation
- PLC programming, and software specification and test specification production
- System testing knowledge and understanding at facilitator level
- Appreciation of cyber security application
- Appreciation of Network Architecture and Configuration.

Essential requirements
- Demonstrable ability to perform at degree/HNC level.
- Work as part of a team.
- Able to travel where, and as required fully expensed.

Good to have but not essential requirements
- Knowledge of project lifecycle
- PLC system design, coding, testing, configuration control and commissioning
- SCADA system design, configuration, and commissioning
- Experience of working in the industrial regulated environment.
- Cyber security and networking experience
This role can be either fully office based or a blend of office and home working. There is a requirement to routinely interface with installation contractors, plant operators and maintainers at Sellafield site. Travel will therefore be necessary from time to time.
