Your Role in the Team

We have (12 month) year-in-industry placement opportunities starting in summer 2024 for IT undergraduates with a keen interest in Customer Technical Support (including hardware, software and networking).

If you have an interest in solving technical issues coupled with a customer-centric approach, then this opportunity is a perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize employee satisfaction by providing a support service experience that employees find welcoming and appealing
  • Deliver support services that employees are eager to use – support includes personalized configuration, troubleshooting, problem resolution and proactive technical advice
  • Support mobility devices such as company mobile phones (Android, iOS), iPad
  • Provide application and hardware support for all managed desktops (Windows/OSX), printers, network connectivity, VPN etc. including lifecycle management of workstations
  • Provide personalized incident management for ticket creation, engineering engagement, escalation and direction – be a single point of contact for communication status

Applicants should have knowledge of and keen interest in IT Infrastructure to include

  • PC – Windows and Apple Mac
  • Mobile phone – Android/iOS/Windows
  • Conferencing – video/audio with emphasis on Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Collaboration tools – Teams, SharePoint Online
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential Skills

  • All candidates must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy
  • Expecting to complete your second year of a computing-related degree course by the end of June 2025 (or the third year for relevant IT degrees).
  • You will have achieved 2.1 classification or higher in your course modules to date. Please include a full list of module marks from your first year and any current year to date. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the application.
  • As part of this role, you will be required to be in either our Belfast or Derry/London-Derry Office 5 days a week.

Desirable Skills

  • A clean driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable but not essential.
