The role sits within the Airbus Support Center (ASC) UK Operational Excellence and Business Management department, which includes Media, Corporate and Internal Communications, Governance, Marketing and Continuous Improvement. If successful you will work for the Head of Operational Excellence and Business Management and will support the Head of Support Centre. We provide 24/7 service and the role is varied and often requires high levels of flexibility and multitasking in an ever changing, unusual and exciting environment.

What you will be doing

  • Procurement – supporting the Procurement team in the review of processes and continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Merchandising and Marketing – identifying new and exciting ways to promote the ATLAS brand through publicity and merchandising.
  • Customer / internal engagement – conducting face to face meetings with customers and internal staff, potentially leading on some projects and visits (e.g. Airshows, High level visits to military sites).
  • Corporate Hospitality – assisting with organising high profile corporate events and visits.
  • Project & Event Management – managing smaller internal events and projects, taking responsibility for outcomes, budgets, timescales etc.
  • Corporate and Internal Communications – finding new ways to ensure that information reaches target audiences and the A400M Atlas Force achievements are recognised. Coordination with the central Airbus Defence and Space comms team. Generate the monthly newsletter collecting the articles from the different departments and publish it in the Airbus portal.
  • Administrative tasks – for example preparation of status reports, minutes of meeting, coordination of agendas and compilation of meeting reports / slide packs by liaising with the leadership team.
  • Operational Excellence - Opportunity to lead some of our improvement projects (following Airbus Project Management  methodology) the candidate will act as Project lead of a multifunctional team.

Requirements

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Media and Comms / Business Management / Procurement;
  • You must be confident, proactive and self-motivating, able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Communication skills, both spoken and written are essential and knowledge of Google Workspace, MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel is extremely advantageous.
  • UK driving licence and having your own car would be beneficial.
