What does Pricing do?
Pricing determine and adjust the prices we charge our customers through logic-based reasoning and statistical analysis. Graduate Pricing Analysts will build and run pricing models and make recommendations for rate changes and are responsible for setting the rates which create competitive prices for our customers.
Main duties
As a Graduate Pricing Analyst in Pet, you could be involved in:
- Building expert knowledge of various tools and languages, which may include Excel, SAS, SQL and others.
- The creation and maintenance of key reports – and using those to monitor key performance metrics.
- Running pricing models using statistical tools, interpreting results, and presenting recommendations for potential rate changes.
- Acting as a liaison for pricing in answering queries relating to pricing.
- Assisting in the technical implementation and testing of price changes.
- Assisting in ad hoc reporting and other analysis.
Location
We are working in a hybrid approach, with two days a fortnight in our Cardiff office (travel expenses are not covered). We will provide you with everything you need to work comfortably from home.
Key skills qualifications and experience
- A degree, 2:1 (or equivalent) in a field with significant mathematical/statistical content.
- Prior experience with a programming language is an advantage but not essential.
- Demonstrable ability to combine analytical thinking based on numbers, together with common sense and imagination.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Able to communicate effectively to all types of audience.
