The position
As a Graduate Enterprise IT Support Engineer, you will be working within a world-class international team. Our key mission is to deliver reliable and effective IT solutions for our company and we want to train you to become a highly technical and knowledgeable engineer, experienced in the design and implementation of a wide range of IT solutions and products.
You will begin your career by supporting our existing infrastructure as a member of a friendly and supportive team. Opportunities are then available for you to grow into our engineering team to design, develop and implement new IT solutions for our company.
Your main role will consist of
- Working on support to learn our Enterprise IT Infrastructure and needs as a business
- Supporting our self hosted services and systems
- Troubleshooting performance issues and errors
- Suggesting improvements and fixes
- Maintaining and managing software delivery on our 800+ fleet of Laptops and Virtual Machines
- Project days to grow and learn , by being given discrete projects to complete
- Use of scripting languages to help build the management and orchestration of our Enterprise Infrastructure
Candidate profile
The successful candidates will have the following attributes:
- Graduate with a 2:1 or above (Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Engineering) and strong A-levels
- Grounding of IT concepts & fundamentals
- Fast learner to be able to quickly pick up knew concepts, systems and processes
- Creative mind-set able to design a solution/process from a set of requirements
- Good scripting knowledge (PowerShell)
- Able to record work in detail and then author guides and technical documentation
- Deliver large items of work to agreed deadlines/schedules
- Team player
- Excellent communication skills
The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of any of the below technologies:
- Windows Server: MS Server 2016/2019, Virtualisation / Hyper-V, Physical Server administration , VDIs, MCSA, MCSE
- Linux Server Administration, CentOS, Red hat
- Infrastructure automation: Ansible/Chef/Puppet
- Atlassian Products: JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo
- Networking: DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, Wireless WANs
Microsoft Technologies: MDT, SCCM, MS Exchange, Active Directory, Azure
