ACO are recruiting for a Civil Engineer Technician (graduate) to join our highly motivated and technical, Design Services Team. The team reports in to the Commercial structure and therefore you will need to be Customer centric and understand the commerciality of your projects.

Job Description

You will be responsible for delivering drainage and water management solutions to fulfil our Customer’s needs. Alongside this, you will be responsible for providing the (internal & external) customer with technical advice and design support relating to ACO’s product range, including value engineering, quality assurance and customer problem resolution.

The Design Service Technicians are responsible for taking full ownership of the design of drainage schemes and preparing ‘take offs’ from technical drawings. This is a highly innovative role which will require you handle in-bound telephone enquiries, undertake complex calculations, use a range of computer software, offer value engineered solutions and develop best practice all of which must be completed within a customer focused time frame.

This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and benefits (including private healthcare, life assurance & pension). You will be based at our Shefford offices and therefore must reside within a commutable distance.

Skills and Experience

  • To be a successful candidate you will have a Civil Engineering qualification.
  • You will be customer centric and have a mind for innovation and technical knowledge.
  • You will be able to communicate clearly, be able to prioritise your own workload and be a champion for accuracy and sharing of best practice.
  • You will have excellent computer literacy and a willingness to talk to our customers over the phone and email
